UEFA Grassroots Leaders Award
Course Entry Requirements
You must be 16 years of age and have completed the Irish FA National Coaching Certificate within the last 6 years to apply.
This course is currently only available to local based coaches only.
Course Outline
The Irish FA UEFA Grassroots Leaders Award is designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches working with children aged 5-12 years. Candidates will have a greater understanding of:
• Game Development - A greater understanding of the Irish FA Small Sided Games Programme.
• Player Development - Creating a Positive Environment for children’s football & How to plan coaching sessions to maximise learning
• Club & Community Leadership – Benefits of coaching and contribution to society
Course content will be delivered over 3 online webinars and candidates will then be expected to apply the learning within their club.
Online webinars 6 Hours
Reality Based Learning (At own club) 14 Hours
Total 20 hours
Course Objectives
Candidates will be required to complete tasks and submit work through the Irish FA learning platform. Tasks include:
1. Identifying players needs
2. Designing ‘Training Plans’
3. Evidence ‘Parent Engagement’ strategies
4. Devising a ‘Personal Development Plan’
Accreditation & Certification
The Irish FA will award the UEFA Grassroots Leaders Award when:
1. The Candidate has attended (in full) 3 online webinars
2. Actively participated in group discussions and tasks
3. Submitted all coursework via the online learning platform
On completion, certificates will be available on the Irish FA online learning platform.
Continuous Professional Development
UEFA C and B Diploma holders will gain 10 CPD points on full completion of this course.
