Irish FA National Coaching Certificate - Adult

Coaches who do NOT reside in Northern Ireland are NOT eligible for this course.

Course Entry Requirements:

Anyone over 16 years of age may apply.

The Irish FA National Coaching Certificate prepares coaches working with Adult players to plan, organise, deliver and reflect on practical coaching sessions for those involved in the Amateur game.

Course Objectives

The National Coaching Certificate (Adult) is designed to give coaches:

- A greater understanding of their role as a Coach and the impact it can have on the development of Amateur Football;

- A specific knowledge around the development of Adult players and those involved in the Amateur Game;

- Develop coaches ability to plan, organise, deliver & reflect upon appropriate coaching sessions.

Course Outline

The course contains both theoretical and practical content, which includes 24 hours of guided learning with a tutor. Candidates will be required to attend an online meeting as well as two practical days*, dates of which are listed in 'More Info' beside each course. Additional time is also required completing the online tasks and uploading work to the coaching platform whilst away from the course.

*some courses may take place over three practical days, rather than one online meeting and two practical days

- Coach Development

- Player Development

- Session Planning

- Technical Coaching Practices

- Game Understanding

The National Coaching Certificate will also cover Safeguarding Children and Young People, Basic First Aid and Nutrition for Football.

Throughout the duration of the course candidates will be provided with ongoing formative feedback from the staff tutor based on a number of practical coaching sessions, before submitting their NCC Logbook for grading.

Candidates should bring appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor practical sessions on 3G /grass, as well as writing materials for notetaking during theory lectures.
