Edu Rubio is a UEFA Pro Licence coach whose career has spanned nearly two decades across multiple levels of English football, from grassroots and academy development through to the Premier League and, most recently, Major League Soccer.

He began his coaching journey with local clubs and development programmes before progressing to roles with prominent organisations including Chelsea’s Academy, the Nike Academy and The Football Association. These formative experiences helped shape a coaching philosophy centred on authenticity, humility and a commitment to developing players both on and off the pitch.

Throughout his career, Edu has held a number of significant coaching and player-development positions. At MK Dons, he served as Head of Academy Coaching and U18s Coach before progressing into senior professional football. His coaching journey has subsequently included roles with Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United, where he worked as part of Julen Lopetegui’s first-team coaching staff.

Edu has since taken his experience into Major League Soccer and is currently Assistant Coach at Sporting Kansas City, working as part of Raphael Wicky’s coaching staff.
